Cuisine American
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup light brown sugar packed
- ¾ cup water
- ½ cup butter
- ½ tsp dry mustard
- 3 pounds chicken wings
- Optional: garlic and/or red pepper flakes
Prepare the Marinade:
In a saucepan, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, water, dry mustard, and butter. Warm over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter is melted and the sugar is dissolved. Allow the marinade to cool to room temperature.
Marinate the Chicken:
Arrange the chicken wings in a 9x13-inch pan. Pour the cooled marinade over the wings, ensuring they are well-coated.
Marinate the wings for at least one hour. If you plan to marinate them for longer, cover the pan and refrigerate until ready to bake.
Bake the Wings:
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Bake the wings for 1 ½ to 2 hours, or until the sauce has thickened and the chicken is cooked through. Be sure to check the wings towards the end of the cooking time to ensure they are fully cooked and the sauce is thickened to your liking.
- Optional Add-ins: For extra flavor, you can add minced garlic or red pepper flakes to the marinade for a spicy kick.
- Refrigerating the Marinade: If marinating for a longer period, refrigerate the wings to ensure they absorb the flavors properly before baking.
